My health journey started with State Street Studio just over a year ago when my childhood friend saw me struggling terribly with family/ personal health issues along with the loss of my mother. I was lost in grief and was diagnosed with diabetes. My doctor got me on medication to get my diabetes under better control but I knew I had to make some changes. I committed to yoga for 1 hour twice a week for about 10 months and my grief began to lighten and my aches and pains were disappearing. Over the past few month’s , I have increased my workouts to 4-6 times a week and my weight, blood sugar and blood pressure have greatly improved. But most of all, the friendships, support and encouragement from all the instructors and other patrons at State Street Studio has been life changing. They have brought calm and focus back to my life. After sitting at a desk for many years, I had knee pain and joint stiffness. It was painful going up and down stairs and I had a lot of hip issues. Doctors said I had arthritis and not much could be done. I did a food sensitivity test and cut out foods that I was sensitive to. I also started doing acupuncture once a month. Those two things reduced inflamation and helped immensely, but I still had pain and hip issues. I also did yoga once or twice a week, but had to drive 45 minutes one way to participate.
State Street Studio now offers 14 classes a week. The combination of yoga and weight training is amazing. Then throw in Pilates and Cardio. I still get a little achy in my knees after long walks, but my recovery time is so much faster and it no longer hurts to go up and down stairs. My hips no longer lock up after sitting or standing too long. I am stronger, more tone and healthier than I have ever been in my life.
I have always worked out 3 – 5 days a week and usually in my own home. The studio is a community and we encourage and support each other. I didn’t think I would like working out with others, but it is way better than on your own.
I am so thankful to Robin for taking the risk and opening a studio in Onaway. It has been successful and, for me, a game changer in my health and well being.

When I travel, I go to other yoga studios and gyms and nothing compares to what we have here in Onaway. 14 different class offerings a week and 8 different instructors. I do 2 – 3 classes a day because every day some form of strength training or cardio or pilates and yoga is offered. Great way to gain strength and flexibility. I have never been to a studio that is so warm and welcoming. State Street Studio is truly a community onto itself.
Thank you Robin and Tom for having the faith and vision to open your studio. You have made it successful with consistency and such a variety of class offerings. Every instructor offers modifications so all ages and fitness levels can participate in any of the classes.

I have been coming to state street studio the last 2 years. The benefits of taking yoga, HR Fit, and Zumba as well as pop up classes are well worth the cost. Recently I went in for a bone density scan and my doctor called to say my bone density not only was good, but had increased in my hips and spine. She told me “ whatever you’re doing-keep doing it.”My previous bone scan 2 years prior was not the best so you can imagine how happy I was to hear the results. Thanks to State Street Studios for giving me so many options for great classes and the opportunity to put my health and well being as a number 1 priority in my life.

On my way to class today my Dr called to give me my bone density results.
She told me the best treatment for me right now is yoga and walking .
