Welcome to our website, we appreciate you stopping by. I’m Robin Mantay, the proud owner of State Street Fitness & Yoga. My journey with yoga began back in 2005 when I was working as a massage therapist at a studio downstate. Not long after, I took on the role of manager there, and in 2013, became a certified yoga instructor. How lucky I was to again find something I so much enjoyed doing and had such a positive impact on others. Fast forward to 2020, we made the exciting move to Onaway. We absolutely love our home and life here but just felt like something was missing—my yoga practice, a dedicated studio, and a sense of community. So, in January 2021, we took the plunge and opened our studio with just two yoga classes.
We now offer 14 regularly scheduled classes each week that include yoga, strength training, cardio and pilates. All levels are welcome as there is something here for everyone. Our amazing community fosters strong connections in this space. Catch up with old friends and make some awesome new connections all while finding a healthier version of yourself.
Outside of the studio we are blessed with 2 adult children and 2 amazing granddaughters. In the summers we enjoy the sunshine, friends and our time playing on Black Lake.

Hi, I’m Helana! Health and fitness have always been a part of who I am. I’ve been involved in sports and physical activity for as long as I can remember—it’s what keeps me energized and ready to enjoy the things I love.
In 2022, I began teaching at State Street Fitness & Yoga, and it’s been an amazing opportunity to bring something positive and uplifting to the community. I love seeing people gain confidence in their own skin, embrace their individuality, and grow stronger in every way.
You’ll find me leading HR Fit, Pilates, and my high-energy cardio class, HR Moves, where I sometimes add a little challenge and competition to keep things exciting!
Outside the studio, I’m all about outdoor adventures—kayaking, riding horses, and spending time with family are some of my favorite ways to stay active and connected.
Join me for a class—I can’t wait to move with you!

I am a Buffalo NY native transplanted to Michigan to settle down after living in five states in seven years because of my husband’s job. I have practiced yoga all over the country absorbing different cultures, methods and practices while loving every second of each!
I am a backpacking, canoeing, outdoor girl who loves to go on adventures with my husband and our son. I have been a hairdresser/barber for over 15 years, which being my main career; my goal is to own my own salon here in town one day.
Yoga really began to catch my attention when I was 17, practicing Bikram. I fell in love with warming up the body and seeing how far it would stretch after truly opening up. Not to mention the ‘yogic high’ is AMAZING!
I’ve been practicing yoga for 16 years. After a year of having my first child, being a stay-at-home mom and a military wife, I began to lose myself. My husband suggested I go to school for yoga and re-center myself. I signed for training at heartwood yoga institute in Bradenton, FL.
I graduated in 2019 and it really broadened my horizons for yoga. I received my YTT-200 along with my Ariel certification. In school we practice all types of postures (asanas), alignment with modifications, breath work (pranayama), Sanskrit lectures, philosophy, anatomy, reiki, sequencing, chakra studies and so much more! I can go on and on, but I just loved it!
I love all types of yoga, however, if I were to pick a few I would say; ashtanga, bikram, and vinyasa are my favorite. I also enjoy a nice yin class to really stretch everything out!
I thrive so much on educating my students and guiding them through their practice. I want them to understand and have them discover more about themselves through physical and internal practice for balance. But the most important thing is having some fun on the mat!
I will be a student for the rest of my life because the more I learn about Yoga the more I want to continue learning and educating!
So come meet me on the mat and get moving! I cannot wait to meet you!

I’ve exercised most of my adult life, with some lapses due to having and raising kids. Group fitness has always been my go-to because working out solo felt boring, making it hard to stick with. Being surrounded by like-minded people motivates and encourages me. I love the social aspect—some of my most cherished friendships started in group fitness classes.
At 55, while working full-time and caring for my daughter with special needs, I earned my first fitness certification. Teaching became my way to de-stress, stay fit, socialize, inspire others, and above all, have fun! Yes, I truly love working out—it’s fun for me!

I’ve been teaching group fitness for nine years, starting at several clubs in Southwest Michigan before moving to Huron Beach. Teaching never feels like work to me—I love connecting with people and sharing my passion for fitness. At State Street Fitness & Yoga, I teach Combat, Fit3, and Let’s Lift.
Before transitioning to fitness, I spent 30 years in Quality Assurance, working for Pharmacia, Pfizer, and Zoetis. Later, I moved into retail, managing and opening Sportsman’s Warehouse locations in Michigan and Wisconsin.
In my spare time, I love fishing, hunting, and spending time with family, especially on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron in the summer or the white sandy beaches of the Caribbean in the colder months. Recently, with a little coaxing from my wife, Doris, I gave pickleball a try—and like so many others, I’m hooked!

Hello! My name is Marlene George and I’ll be in the studio to have the coffee ready on some mornings and greet you before classes begin.
I had been practicing gentle yoga on and off for about 4 years or so and with a little coaxing from my sister, became a member and added fitness to my schedule. My new routine was a nice addition to my free days of retirement. As the studio grew with new classes, Robin mentioned she might need some help, and I was happy to fill some of my free time, and take care of my mind, body and soul too!
My husband, Tim and I have a daughter, Teresa, and a son, John (and Erika). We have been blessed with four granddaughters and one grandson. We enjoy traveling, living on the lake and keeping up with all our family activities.
